my preliminary examinations for the o levels are coming soon and i'm less than halfway prepared. was mugging for my social studies test(which is tomorrow) and realized that i really don't have the amplitude for humanities. thus, i'm very much more of a scientific/technical person who only sees life in 1 straight and rigid perspective. is it good or bad? i don't know, but i think it's more of the latter. i couldn't seem to absorb anything on the Good Governance in Singapore chapter. those Principls of Pragmatism et cetera. the most i could do is to memorize all the points, but what if i come across those thinking questions? as in "To what extent...." , "How far do you agree...". i would just have to depend on my luck for the level of difficulty the question would be. how, how, how? i really have to do well in my combined humanities so that the grades of my other subjects would not be pulled down. either that, or i would have to do exceptionally well for my other subjects ; ace everything else.

my usual routine would be followed again tomorrow as the week is going to start. i can already foresee what i would be doing and how i would be feeling early in the morning when i wake up. firstly, i would drag myself out of bed to the kitchen, have a cup full of plain water, grab the 2 pieces of bread with either cheese or fish floss, stroll to the sofa and eat with my eyes half closed. after that, i would pull out my uniform from my cupboard, have another stroll to the toilet to have a warm and refreshing shower. argh just talking of my daily morning routine makes me feel bored and sick. hence, i will not talk about it anymore. if my brain were to be removed, i still think i would be able to do the same usual boring daily morning routine because it's kinda automatic. without any thinking or hesitation, i find myself being able to do the same stuff in sequence.

bah. just slightly more than 3 more months and i would be free of secondary school life. in fact, i have already started to have thoughts about what i would be doing after my 'o' level examinations. how i wished time would pass faster when u are not enjoying yourself than when you are enjoying yourself. life would be much more worthwhile.

okay it's time for me to sleep. good bye.

farewell to bergkamp. i was kinda laughing when i first read the report of the bergkamp testimonial match. this was because weird things were happening like van basten executing a 'superb volley'(at his age), the winning goal coming from a deflection on jaap stam's backside. haha. hilarious.

english common test today. i thought the paper was quite okay. the only parts that i don't think i would do very well in are the vocab section and summary. as usual, i didn't read the summary question prompty and therefore had to re-do my summary draft when i was halfway through when i came to my realisation that i was not answering the question fully. hope i'll do well to bring up my confidence as my confidence in english underwent a severe plunge during the mid-year exams when i did very, very badly.

currently consuming my daily dosage of fruits! they're essential. i like fruits only when they're chilled though. the cool sensation of the juice of the fruit(s) that is/are squirted onto your tongue and tastebuds when you chew it/them just feels great! anyway i'm not a very versatile consumer of fruits. i don't eat anything other than apples, oranges, guavas, grapes or canned peaches.

all right, think it's time to get started with my homework. good bye!

the new era of arsenal begins this saturday where the 1st match will be played at the new stadium, the Emirates stadium. this 1st match will be a very special, memorable, conclusive, symbolic and emotional one as it is the dennis "the iceman" bergkamp testimonial match. arsenal will play ajax, bergkamp's former club where he made a big name for himself, before moving to inter and then arsenal.

bergkamp scored more than a century of goals at ajax(if i'm not wrong), of which many of them are remembered. when he came to arsenal, arsenal became popular. however, he still had no idea that he would have 10 more fantastic years at arsenal.

at arsenal, he has scored 120 goals, the 10th highest scorer. however, he has become know for his assists and creation of goals. his god-like vision, complemented by his nimble footwork, perfect ball control and composure has made him able to do impossible things. he has made passes that seem impossible. he can trap the football unconventionally. an almost all-rounded striker, maybe lacking a bit in the physical area, he has scored a few classic goals, like the goal against newcastle where he made a fool out of the newcastle defender. the defender wasn't to blame. bergkamp, on receiving the ball, had his back facing the goal with a newcastle defender right behind him. he made a flick on the ball and it flew diagonally behind to the right, passing the defender. bergkamp then turned to his left and ran around the player, straight to the ball. stranded, the defender could not do much, but ponder on how great a player bergkamp was. the finish was of great composure too.

emirates stadium, a 60000 seater, is considered to be a very very luxurious stadium. go to www.arsenal.com to see it!

all right. i got to go. life goes on.

sigh. france, the team i support second most lost to italy in the world cup final this morning. they played great football, with free-flowing passing(maximum credit to the one and only zidane) and bursts of lightning-quick attacks. however, they lost by penalties.

the most dramatic point of the match was when zidane executed a headbutt onto materazzi. i was shocked. however, i personally feel that zidane had been treated unfairly. according to today's newpaper, both zidane and materazzi had tussles with each other throughout the match. and in one point of time, materazzi dealt a punch onto zidane's already-in-agony arm. gamesmanship you think? and right before zidane executed his headbutt onto materazzi, materazzi appeared to have said something to zidane which ticked zidane off. that was the last straw.

i feel very sad because zidane's star-studded career had to be ended in such a manner. the moment where zidane walked past the world cup trophy heading into the dressing room was indeed heartbreaking. zidane wept, millions of people wept. zidane, who had actually retired from international football before the world cup, was persuaded and finally decided to participate in one last world cup. this was a huge inspiration to the juniors of the team like franck ribery.

things must have felt even worse when france lost to italy by penalties. however, i don't think zidane should be blamed entirely for france's loss. this is because france did not lose when they were 1 man down. no one would know whether zidane would have scored in the penalty shootout if he was not sent off. what if he missed? the best players in football still do make blunders and mistakes. as many people say, a penalty shootout is like russian roulette. unfortunately, france lost the priceless gamble.

i shall hereby salute my favourite midfielder, zidane, for what he has done in football. in spite of his headbutt, he deserves the maximum respect, for he's legendary. anyway, he still won the fifa golden ball? something to be proud about man.

hallo. 2 weeks of school have passed since the end of school holidays. school has been more enjoyable than the previous semester so far. i seem to understand the new a math stuff more easily and also seem to have more motivation to do my own revision. however, my thoughts and plans for revision have always been brushed aside by homework and fatigue. hence, there is no progress in my revision.

brazil's out of the world cup already. :(. i'm disappointed man. they kind of deserved it anyway. there seemed to be a lack of commitment and teamwork in the brazilian players. parreira's fault? possibly. i noticed that the brazil team had no fixed way of passing. they were simply just passing to the running men, to the unmarked player(s) near them, or chipping/lobbing to the unmarked player(s) further away. ronaldinho wasn't at his best, nor was the defence.

anyway, they were beaten by a strong france side. this crazy player with inconceivable skills called zidane stole the show. indeed, he's crazy. he'll certainly be the player the italian side would be keeping a big eye on.

oh ya, how could i have forgotten. france knocked portugal out. serves ronaldo right. the player who wants the lime light and does meaningless and over-flowery dribbles. anyway, he still refused to give in after the match by complaining that the referee was siding the french team.

this sunday's the final of the world cup. italy vs france. a very tight match indeed. hundreds, or even thousands of people could go bankrupt by the outcome of the match. haha. i think france'll win. the italian defence seems inpenetrable but the potential of penetrating force the french attack has doesn't seem preventable. haha. france is scary! however, italy's attack isn't weak too. them scoring 2 goals in the last 2 minutes of extra time against germany says it all- italy can do anything. my conclusion of the final - unpredictable!

i got to go. bye and cheers
